Well im 17 years old and I have a very limited budget. I have a couple friends that I want to get a gift for and I already decided to make them each a knitted scarf and buy them some candy, unless you have some other ideas?
What should I get my mom?
I have 2 brothers, ages 21 and 24 and they each have girlfriends, so should I buy them both something for them and their girlfriends or buy them each something seperate and get their girlfriends something else? if so, what should I get?
My boyfriend and I have been dating a year now so I want to buy his family a gift too. I was thinking a gift card to a restaraunt for his mom and step-dad, and a gift card of some kind for his sister who is 14. any other ideas for them?
And lastly, for my wonderful boyfriend, I was kind of hoping that I could get enough money to buy him call Of Duty: Black Ops, but I dont know for sure if I am going to be able too, so I need ideas!
Your answers will be very much appreciated!
How about you make them scrapbooks? This is a great time of year to get memories together and start scrapbooking. I'd suggest starting at storephotos.com/ and get your supplies. then you can gather photos, movie stubs, etc., and make a great scrapbook. This can also be the kind of present that you work on together with your boyfriend's sister. great for bonding time.
I hope this helps!
i think you should do gift baskets they look great and they are often so cheap.
for your brothers if they live with there girl friends you can get away with giving them a joint present like a movie night basket use a old popcorn tub put in it a dvd doesn't need to be up to date some popcorn a couple of bottles of drink some chocolate and anything else you would have on a movie night or you could do a cosy night in which would include wine (if you can get someone to get it u to give them) chocolate a candle and a music cd can me hand made.
if their girlfriends don't live with them and you want to buy them gifts you can make them cosy night in baskets for themselves having a book in replace of a cd or a pamper night one with a bath bomb some chocolate a packet face mask and a book/cd
your mum might like a gift basket to of one of the above
for your boyfriends mum and dad you could make any of the above hampers or a homemade food hamper with things you have made like mince pies and buscuits.
hopefully by saving money on others you will able to get your boyfriend the present you want to get him just check no one else has got it him to.
heres some pics of hampers

I would go with something personal and memorable - you can get many really cheap custom photo gifts at attitudereadjustment.com . You just upload the picture you want printed on it, and they do it. Feel free to be creative and search for some nice and memorable picture on the Internet or use one from your personal collection. They do take 3-4 weeks to deliver, but for their prices it's well worth the wait. if you want your picture printed on something else [like clothing, a mouse pad or an umbrella], they can do that too. Best of all, they offer free shipping! =)
lets see.......i like the knitted scarf and candy idea, anything from the heart is best!
for your mom: if she likes perfume, a nice designer perfume and a box of gourmet hot coco mixes
for your brothers and their girlfriends: maybe get each couple a $50 gift card to a restaurant like chilies or macaroni grill... if you can't afford that, then maybe you can make their girlfriends each a scarf (unless you aren't close to them, maybe a set of gourmet hot cocoa mixes or a $10 starbucks giftcard!) and get your brothers a $25 gift card to their favorite store. and if you can't afford that, get each couple a nice ornament! like one that says 2010 on it or an ornament that reminds you of them.
For your boyfriend's family, I would get them all a family gift to share like a gourmet basket of goodies, and then make his mom a scarf as well, or buy her a glass rose (the mall should have a glass store or you can find it online... I bought my husbands mom a glass rose one year and she still has it in her bathroom to look at everyday! you really can't go wrong with something like that, and the one I got was $10!)
For your boyfriend: the call of duty game is a great idea, if you can't afford that, try going on to craigslist and seeing if they have any 2nd hand games on there that he might like, like the new Halo Reach, you might be able to get your hands on that! if not, I would make something more personal for him, like a framed photo of you two together, and maybe some other things like a tshirt, or a gift card!
Hope this helps!
Good grief, Santa Klaus had better bring us all another bailout for Christmas.
You should only buy gifts for your parents and siblings, that's it! Who ever heard of buying gifts for your brothers' girlfriends, or your boyfriend's family? That's absurd, especially when you're 17! where do they expect you to get the money for it?
For your parents and siblings, get them each a $10 gift card to starbucks or Dunkin Doughnuts or any similar establishment.
If you're going to your boyfriend's place for Xmas, then bring along some homemade cookies. You can also make some for your immediate family. I always do the "food" thing on Xmas and it's better than any gift I could otherwise give.
What are some Christmas Gift ideas for family, friends, and boyfriend/boyfriends family?
